Tooley's opened in 1928 by brothers Frank and Dick Tooley. They initially opened as a retail pharmacy with gifts and a soda fountain. Dick Jr. came to work with his father in 1958. Dick's son, Tim joined the family business in 1984. In 1986, Tooley's added homecare products such as oxygen, hospital beds, wheelchairs and other medical equipment. In 1991, Tooley's expanded into its current location offering a larger gift shop, which is overseen by Joan Tooley.
